This group meets on the 3rd Friday of each month in the Community Room, at Ilkeston Fire Station, from 10am to 12 noon.
The history of Great Britain, Europe and the World is so varied, that there are endless subjects that can be researched and talked about. Members are encouraged to be involved and contribute to ideas, and if possible, to present a short history to the rest of the Group, on a subject of their choice.
We also invite the occasional speaker to make a presentation, enjoy a quiz every now and then, make use of the on site television to watch relevant programmes, and when possible, visit a place of interest (mainly during the warmer months).
A variable charge (between £1 and £2) is made to cover the cost of refreshments and any visiting speaker.
