How to Join

  • Complete our Membership Form
  • Print the form and bring it along to our next Open Meeting (if you don’t have a printer we always have spare forms at our main meeting)
  • Alternatively you can take it along to one of our Interest Groups if you are taking advantage of our ‘try before you buy’ opportunity, together with your membership fee if paying by cash or cheque

Our year runs from 1st January to 31st December. Members who join part way through the year may be eligible to pay a pro-rata fee.  See Membership Fees for more details

 


Benefits of Membership

As a member of Ilkeston u3a you are entitled to

And…

  • attend monthly Open Meetings for a nominal entrance fee
  • receive our regular newsletter by email
  • register to attend any number of Ilkeston u3a Interest Groups, given space is available, (nominal extra fee may apply to cover any costs incurred by individual groups, e.g. tea and biscuits)
  • attend up to 3 Interest Groups at our Cluster/Reciprocal partner u3as without paying an additional membership fee. Our current partner u3as are Beeston; Derby; Long Eaton; and Stapleford
  • be covered by the umbrella insurance and licences of the national u3a, the Third Age Trust
  • attend u3a online talks and events free of charge, organised by the national u3a

Code of Conduct

All members agree to:-

  • Abide by the Principles of the u3a movement and act in the best interests of the u3a and never do anything to bring the u3a into disrepute
  • Abide by the terms and conditions of Ilkeston u3a Constitution
  • Treat fellow members with respect and courtesy at all times
  • Comply with and support the decisions of the elected Committee
  • Advise Membership of any change in your personal details

An important aspect of being a u3a member is understanding how you can give back…we all have skills, knowledge, abilities or time that we can offer to make Ilkeston u3a a rewarding and enriching experience for everyone.
